Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is based on the principle that all functions, organs and parts of the body have corresponding reflexes on the feet.

Reflexology

To discover what is out of balance a process of relaxation techniques and pressure is applied to the reflex points breaking down congestion thus stimulating circulation and energy flow helping the body to rebalance and heal itself.

There are zones that run vertically along the body which are said to be energy pathways. When one of these zones is blocked it indicates a problem with part of the body's healing function. By using this technique it will return the body to a natural state of health.

Reflexology was first recorded in ancient Egypt and was documented in hieroglyphs; It history was then traced to the Roman Empire and eventually in the 1900's went to America. This is where Dr William Fitzgerald an ear, nose and throat specialist found that pressure used on one part of the body linked to injury elsewhere. This was further developed by Eunice Ingham who discovered reflexes on the feet mirrored organs in the body and this principle has been further developed and used today.

What conditions can Reflexology help?

Allergies, Arthritis, Asthma, Back Pain, Bloating, Cancer, Depression, Diabetes, Eczema, Gout, Hay fever, Heart Problem, IBS, Immune System Problems, Insomnia, Infertility, ME, Menopausal Symptoms, Migraine, Mood Problems, MS, Osteoporosis, PMT, Psoriasis, Sinus problems, Sleeping Disorders, Thyroid Problems, Tinnitus.

What does the treatment involve?

Reflexology

During your first consultation I will document details covering your health history, lifestyle and hereditary background.

I will carry out a reflexology routine gently working with finger and thumb pressure on your feet and ankles. When certain areas of sensitivity are highlighted during the treatment they will be thoroughly worked out, later discussed and recorded whereupon a more tailored treatment can be designed for the future if required. Pressure is applied to reflex points on the feet which will relax the body and improve energy flow; it also encourages blood flow, removal of toxins and relaxation.
